Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Global Program

Who we are

The Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health and Nutrition Global Program’s aim is to reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality and support integrated solutions from pregnancy to a child’s second birthday. Our multidisciplinary team includes program managers, technical experts, and researchers with diverse skills and extensive experience in implementing programs. Working across 19 countries, our team offers a strong array of expertise in maternal and child health and nutrition.

Our diversity of skills and experience is reflected in all of our project teams. For example, as part of the Landscape Analysis of Maternal and Perinatal Infections Project, team members with expertise in maternal health, diagnostics, research, monitoring and evaluation, and commercialization worked together to design and implement an innovative research study investigating infections linked to maternal and perinatal mortality. The multidisciplinary team reconciled findings from the pathogen and diagnostic landscape and mapped them onto care-seeking behaviors along the continuum of care. Study results are providing global health researchers and practitioners with critical data on the feasibility and acceptability of diagnostic technologies in low-resource settings among both providers and the community.
